New York City Special Narcotics Prosecutor Bridget G. Brennan and New York State Department of Correctional Services Commissioner Brian Fischer announced today the arrest of correction officer Charles Corneilson after he attempted to buy 50 glassines of heroin for $350 from an undercover officer. Corneilson, who was arrested shortly before six p.m. last night in front of the Empire State Building, on the corner of 33rd Street and Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, had been assigned to the Fulton Correctional Facility, at 1511 Fulton Avenue, in The Bronx. The defendant, who is 46 years old, became a correction officer in 2000.

The arrest was the result of a short term investigation by the Office of the NYC Special Narcotics Prosecutor and the New York State Department of Correctional Services Inspector General’s Office.
